Obituary

Sabino M. "Nino" DiNunno Sabino "Nino" M. DiNunno, 89, formerly of Brockton, died Friday, December 26, 2008 at St. Joseph's Manor in Brockton after a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of Gloria (LeBlanc) DiNunno. Born March 30, 1919 in Brockton, he was the son of the late Donato DiNunno and Francesca (Minerva) DiNunno. Mr. DiNunno was a World War II US Army Air Corp Veteran, having served in the CBI Theater. He was also a member of the Italian American War Veterans. Nino was known as a hard-working carpenter that built dozens of homes in the Brockton area and around New England. He was one of the many tradesmen that built and maintained the Brockton High School. After his retirement from the City of Brockton Building Department in1981, he was the Co-Founder and Owner of The Village Fish Market Restaurant at Fisherman's Village in Punta Gorda, Florida. Nino retired from the Fish Market in 2003 before moving to West Bridgewater where he and his wife have lived for the past 5 years. Grampa or Papa will be warmly remembered by his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Nino enjoyed bowling, puzzles and visiting with his family and friends. Nino is probably best known for his jokes. Everyone loved Nino's jokes, no matter how many times they heard them. He is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria (LeBlanc) DiNunno; his loving children, Denise M. Buote and her husband John, Donald A. DiNunno and his wife Marcia, Francine M. Mitchell and her husband Pat, Nino DiNunno and his wife Debbie, Christopher A. DiNunno and his wife Cecelia, and Richard A. DiNunno and his wife Lisa; his brothers and sisters, Joseph DiNunno, Rose Hayes, Angelo DiNunno, and Ann Smith; and his many nieces and nephews who knew him as Uncle Nino. He was the brother of the late Sally DiNunno and Paul DiNunno. Funeral Information Funeral Service will be held in the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St.,(RT123) Brockton on Wednesday, December 31st at 9:30AM. Interment will follow in the Massachusetts VA National Cemetery, Bourne at 11:30AM. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home Tuesday 3:00-7:00PM.
