Obituary

Sal Roppolo, age 87, of Brockton, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. He was the husband of Sabina (Caccavo) Roppolo.

Born and raised in Sicily, Italy, he was the son of the late Albert and Brigida (Scimemi) Roppolo.

He worked as a builder in the marble and tile construction industry for many years.

Sal was Inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame, coached professionally for the New England All Stars from1964-1965, and served as Head Soccer Coach at Bridgewater State University.

Besides his wife Sabina, he leaves his two sons, Al Roppolo and his wife Jacqueline of Plymouth and Cosimo Roppolo and his wife April of Bridgewater; two grandchildren, Christopher and Bella; four step grandchildren, Ryan, Ashley, Stefan, and Ryann; and four brothers.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral on Friday, April 4, 2025, at 9:30 am, for a funeral mass at 10:30 am, in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 433 West Street, Brockton. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, N. Pearl Street, Brockton.
