Obituary

Sally (Maggio) Ferrell, age 99, of Brockton, died April 21, 2020 at Good Samaritan Medical Center. Sally was the wife of the late Daniel O. Ferrell and longtime companion of the late Freddy Brown. Born in Sicily, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Carmella (Munifo) Maggio.

In the mid 1920’s, Sally came to the United States with her parents. A favorite childhood memory for Sally was while vacationing in Rhode Island she had milk and cookies with Frank Sinatra. For many years, she worked as a waitress and in retail. Sally was a kind person with a gentle soul. For many years, she and Freddy delivered newspapers and Meals on Wheels.

Sally was the mother of Paula A. Crowley-Gonzalez, Patricia Santos, and Beverly Welch, grandmother of eleven, including Bob Santos and his wife Heather, John Santos and his wife Sue, Paul, Philip and Loretta Crowley; Mark Daum; Trisha Amon, Cindy Pinnetti, Gina Welch and Daniel Willette and his wife Staci; great grandmother of nine including Russell R. Crowley, Lauren and Josh Braley, and Ian, Mya and Jonny Santos and great great grandmother of three including Evie Crowley. She was the sister of Pauline Maggio, Josephine Maggio-Loring and Leo Maggio. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, including Anthony Loring; Brian, Craig, & Steven Maggio.

A celebration of Sally’s life will be held at a later date.
