"Sal" Madonna

Salvatore A. “Sal” Madonna, age 83, of Bridgewater, died September 7, 2016 at Southeast Rehab and Skilled Care Center, following a period of failing health. Sal was the loving husband for 55 years of Linda M. (Petti) Madonna. Born, raised and educated in Brockton, he was the son of Frank and Rose (Lombardo) Madonna. Sal was a Korean War veteran and served in the Air Force. For many years he held management positions at the Brockton Public Market and Shaw’s Supermarket. Sal’s greatest pleasure in life was time with his family. He also enjoyed yard work, gardening, travel and cards, and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. Sal was an active member of his community and served on many committees and fundraising charitable organizations.
Sal is also survived by two sons Albert Madonna and his wife Roxanne and Joseph Madonna; and a daughter in law Pamela Madonna. He was also the father of the late James V Madonna. He had four grandchildren James V. Madonna, Jr. and his wife Brittney, Matthew, Gabriel and Grace Madonna; three great grandchildren Juliette, Leah and Ashlyn; and sister Rosarina Hassan. He was the brother of the late Vincent, Michael, Augustino, and Arthur Madonna. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton, Sunday 2-5pm. A funeral Service will be held in the funeral home Monday at 10:30am followed by burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Sal’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
