Sampson Lee Blevines, Sr.'s Obituary

Sampson Lee Blevines Sr. of Brockton, MA, was born born March 1, 1964 in Aberdeen MS and spent most of his life in Brockton. He passed away on March 28, 2026 surrounded by his children.

A hardworking man, Sam worked his entire life in the printing press industry, building a career as a print press operator, die maker, and production manager, most recently with Cranberry Creative. He took great pride in his work and in providing for his family. Outside of work, Sam found his greatest joy in spending time with loved ones, especially during holidays filled with home-cooked meals. He was known for chasing down Mister Lemon drinks, enjoying his red Kool-Aid, and taking memorable RV trips to visit family out of state. Nothing meant more to him than family, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Sammy was a homebody who found joy in the simple things. To those who knew him best, he often jokingly called the bathroom his “throne” where he would spend hours playing video games. Later in life, Sammy embraced new experiences, including traveling out of the country on a cruise, horseback riding, and camping. He was an avid sports lover who played softball with the 54th Homestead Grays and Southfield, coached his children, and proudly supported his grandchildren from the sidelines—never afraid to argue with a referee about a bad call. He was often on his phone setting up his fantasy football lineup even when hospitalized. He was a devoted New England sports fan, he loved all his hometown teams and was rarely seen without his Patriots gear.

He is survived by his Mother: Margaret Blevins, His wife: Lorraine McClendon. Children: Shatiera Amankrah (Ivan), Sampson Blevines Jr. (Jennifer), Damien Blevines and David McClendon. His siblings: Charlie Blevines Jr. (Boe), Benny Blevins, and Linda Blevins (Lou). Grandchildren: Shamarie Hester, Charles “CK” Hester, Jordan Hester, Maleek Hester, Malakhi Hester, Madison Hester, Sampson L. Blevines III, Selena Blevines, Silas Blevines, Mya Amankrah, Kojo Amankrah, Diamond King, Meilea Carter-Blevines, Avayiaa Carter-Blevines. Great Grandson: Lejennd Pickett. Many other loving Aunts and Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom will miss him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his Father Charlie Blevins, Son Marcus Hester and Sister Rebekah Blevines.
