Obituary

Samuel Macrina Samuel Macrina , 81, of Brockton, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at the Southeast Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in Easton after a short period of failing health. Born May 1, 1929 in Brockton, he was the son of the late Saverio Macrina and Maria Rose (Procopio) Macrina. He was a life long Brockton resident and served in the United States Army during the Korean War where he received the Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars. Mr. Macrina was a retired Sergeant with the Massachusetts State Police where he was stationed on Nantucket Island for over 20 years and retired in 1992. He was a very religious and charitable man and enjoyed gardening. He is survived by his brothers, Joseph Macrina and his companion Marilyn of South Easton, Greg Macrina and his wife Sandra of West Bridgewater and Richard Macrina and his wife Marion of Buzzards Bay; his nieces and nephews, Joanne Zahar, Joseph Macrina, James Macrina, Christopher Macrina, Mark Macrina, Michelle Mason and Kathryn Schneider. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held in the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Saturday, March 19th at 10:00AM. Interment will be private. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home Friday 4:00-7:00PM.
