Obituary

Santos B. Jones, Sr., age 88, of Brockton, died peacefully at his home on March 24, 2023. Santos was the loving husband for 58 years of the late Dorsie (Chapman) Jones. Born, raised, and educated in Cincinnati, OH, he was the son of the late Samuel and Myrtle (Reid) Jones.

Santos served in the Navy during Korea and for 44 years worked for the City of Boston, retiring as Chief HVAC Engineer for the Boston Public School System. He was a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge and a communicant of Christ the King Church.

He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Patriots and enjoyed time at Foxwoods Casino. His family was the most important part of his life and he was proud to have come from a family of engineers.

Santos was the father of Bernetta Smith of Dorchester; Santos Jones, Jr. of New London, CT; Dorothea Jones of Brockton, MA; Geraldine Jones of Brockton, MA and the late Juanita Owens and Christal Saunders. He is also survived by 12 brothers and sisters, 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, on Sunday, April 2, from 2-5pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Monday at 9:30am, for a Funeral Mass at Christ the King Church at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
