Obituary

Santos Mercado “Chico” age 55, most recently of Attleboro, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023. Born and raised in Brockton, he was the son of Ramonita (Bermudez) Mercado and the late Nicolas Mercado, Sr., brother of Nicolas Mercado, Jr. and the late Oscar Mercado.

He graduated from Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School and Boston University.

Santos served his country proudly in the United State Navy from 1986 – 1989.

Mr. Mercado worked as a welder for many years. He enjoyed golf, welding as recreation, doing mechanic work, playing pool and darts, and sports. Santos had great love for his friends and considered them more family than friends. He will be remembered as being outgoing, fun, loveable, and was very patriotic.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to visit with Santos’ family on Saturday, August 19, 2023, from 12:00 to 3:00 pm, with a funeral service beginning at 2:45pm, followed by military honors, in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton. Interment will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at a later date.
