Obituary

Scott D. Sweeting, age 54, of Brockton, died unexpectedly at his home on August 26, 2024. He was the loving father of Tyler Sweeting and Justin “JJ” Sweeting and son of Louise (Cohen) Sweeting and the late Daniel Sweeting Sr. Scott remained a lifelong resident of the city.

A 1987 graduate of Southeastern Regional Vocational High School, Scott was a police officer with the Town of Norton for 28 years and recently retired from the force. He was very active in the DARE program and other community activities. Scott was a caring and giving man who enjoyed fishing, playing ball and watching movies with his children. Most importantly he loved his family.

Scott was the brother of Daniel Sweeting, Jr. of Brockton, Enid Sweeting Louis and her husband George of Bridgewater, Andrea Cohen of Brockton and the late Derrek Sweeting. He also leaves Sarah Issa, the mother of his sons and was an uncle to one niece and many nephews.

Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 from 4-7pm at the Conley Funeral, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton. Funeral service in the funeral home on Wednesday, September 4 at 11am. Burial will be at a later date.
