Serafim V. Boutas
Serafim Vaios Boutas, of Canton, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday October 21, 2009 at age 77 at the Norwood Hospital.
He was born March 15, 1932 in Saint George, Karditsa, Greece he was the son of the late Vaios and Agoritsa (Tsianou) Boutas. He immigrated to the United States arriving in Boston, in 1951. He enjoyed time spent with his beloved family and traveling to his native Greece.
Starting at the Athens Olympia Restaurant, he later became an entrepreneur owning George and Nicks Steakhouse, Athenian Taverna of Cambridge and Brother's Deli II of Chelsea and retired from Liberty Loan Company also of Chelsea. Serafim was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Brockton.
He leaves his wife of 52 years, Fotine (Halatsis) Boutas; his daughters, Audrey Casavant and her husband Richard of Wilmington and Efthimea Jaramillo and her husband Sergio of Canton. He was the cherished grandfather of Sergio Christopher and Serafim Haralambo "Bobby" of Canton; his brothers, Kostas Boutas and his wife Tina of Brockton and Vasilios Boutas and his wife Beth of Brockton; his sister, Despina, the wife of the late Evangelos Nikolakakos of Randolph; He also leaves many nieces and nephews, a large extended family in Greece, and many friends.

Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Saturday, October 24th at 9:00AM followed by a funeral service in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 457 Oak St., Brockton at 10:00AM Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
