Online Obituaries Sgt. Chica, United States Marine Improvised Explosive Device Dog (IDD), passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at her home after a brief illness. Chica was a Marine working dog who served two tours in Afghanistan, sniffing out explosive devices. She was Honorably Discharged from The United States Marine Corp on January 13, 2014 after countless lives she saved due to her training to sniff out explosives and to protect the Marine Service men and women she served. She was the loyal partner to her Handler, Sgt. Matthew L. Flaherty who adopted her after her service to her Country. Funeral Information Following cremation, a Memorial Gathering will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main St., (RT28) WEST BRIDGEWATER on Tuesday May 30th from 4:00-6:00PM followed by a Funeral Ceremony at 6:00PM.
