Online Obituaries Shirley "Ruth" (Patterson) Dellabella, 86, of Brockton, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, May 19, 2013 in Brockton. She was the wife of the late Charles Dellabella. Born in Brasher Falls, New York, she was the daughter of the late Catherine (Ackerman) Patterson and Charles Patterson. She and her late husband Charles moved to Brockton shortly after he returned from World War II. Mrs. Dellabella was predeceased by her only daughter, Sharon Mills in 2007. For many years, Shirley worked as a legal secretary for Brockton Attorney Ira Lipman. Ruth was an avid reader and bridge player. She greatly enjoyed visits from friends and family and was happiest when surrounded by her granddaughter and great-grandsons. Those who knew her will remember her incredibly independent spirit and sharp wit. She is survived by her granddaughter, Mrs. Kerrie (Mills) Farley and her husband Michael Farley; her great-grandsons, William and Chase as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral Information A Memorial gathering will be held in the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Tuesday, May 28th from 4:00-5:00PM followed by a prayer service at 5:00PM. Interment will be private.
