Shirley J. Powers, 76, of East Bridgewater, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024 at the Sachem Rehabilitation Center in East Bridgewater after a lengthy battle with dementia. She was born in Augusta, Maine to parents James and Gertrude (Robbins) Chaffin. Shirley attended East Bridgewater elementary schools and Brockton High School.

She is survived by her husband James; her sister Mary and her husband Charles Studenski of Brockton; her brother James Chaffin and his wife Patricia of East Bridgewater; her sister Patricia and her husband David Pero of Bridgewater; and many nieces and nephews.

Shirley worked at the Goddard Hospital in Stoughton for many years. She was an avid quilter, cross stitcher, and antique collector.

A private gathering will be held at the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, West Bridgewater at a later date.
