Obituary

Silvestra M. Neves, 89 years died Monday at the Brockton Hospital after a period of failing health. She was born, raised and educated in Chao de Pedra, Santo Antao, Cape Verde, a daughter of the late Antonio Jose and Maria Francisca (Monteiro) Neves. Mrs. Neves had been a resident of Brockton since 1996, enjoyed reading and time spent at home with her family.

She is survived by her children, Mariazinha N. Evora, Irene N. Rocha, Rozarinha N. Brandao, Jovita N. Neves, Antonio M. Neves, Carminda N. Coly, Alzinda N. Castro and Benvindo M. Neves, 34 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was the wife of the late Manuel Antonio Neves.

A Prayer Service will be held at Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday at 10 am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday 6-9 pm.
