Starry (Baker) Sarkisian Starry (Baker) Sarkisian , 84, of Brockton, passed away Monday, October 11, 2010 at West Acres Nursing Home, surrounded by her family after a lengthy illness. She was the loving wife of George K. Sarkisian. Born May 8, 1926 in Weymouth, her family then moved to Brockton where she resided for 84 years. Starry was the loving daughter of the late Charles and Hanem Baker and sister of the late Vartkes, Masis, Andrew and Peter Baker and was raised working on their farm on Cary Hill. She married George on September 2, 1951 with whom she just celebrated her 59th wedding anniversary. Starry is survived by her husband, George; her children, Sheree and her husband Richard Brooks of Bridgewater, Georgette Sarkisian of Brockton, and the late Gary G. Sarkisian of Brockton. She leaves her four grandchildren, Ashley and Allison Sarkisian of Brockton, Stephanie S. Brooks of Brooklyn, NY and Eric A. Brooks of Bridgewater; she is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. For many years, she worked as a fancy stitcher at Lissak Shoe Co. and Fidelity Prestige. Her hobbies included bowling, cooking and family gatherings. She was a competitive bowler at Maple Lanes in Brockton and won numerous trophies and awards. She was devoted to her family and loved to cook Armenian food for her family, neighbors and friends. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held in the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Monday, October 18th at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home Sunday 2:00-5:00PM.
