Stephen J. Makos (Steve), 69, of North Fort Myers Florida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 13, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer. Steve is survived by his wife, Joan of North Fort Myers Florida; his son, Fr. Jay Makos of Saugus; his son, Justin of Plymouth; his sister, Marianne (Makos) Gagne and Robert Gagne of Brockton; and several nieces and nephews. Steve was a Vietnam Veteran who served his country courageously with the 196th Light Infantry Brigade. He enjoyed fishing and boating throughout his life. Steve loved computers and tinkering with electronics. A Memorial Gathering will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Sunday, April 10th from 2:00PM-6:00PM. A Funeral mass for the repose of his soul will be held on Monday, April 11th at 11:00AM in St. Edith Stein Parish, 71 East Main St., Brockton. Interment will be held in the VA National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, Steve's family requests that donations be made in his honor to the Saugus Catholic Collaborative, 14 Summer Street, Saugus, MA 01906.
