December 10, 1933 – April 2, 2025
Steve G. Demos, 91, of Brockton, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Panayiota (Plomaritou) Demos for over fifty years.
Born December 10, 1933 in Petra, Lesvos, Greece, he was the son of the late George Demos and Eleftheria (Spirou) Demos. Raised in Petra on the Island of Lesvos, he attended primary school in Petra and graduated high school in Mytilene. He then graduated from Northeastern University in 1962 with a Civil Engineering degree. He served in the United States Army in Germany during 1954-1956.
Upon graduation from Northeastern University, Steve worked as a town engineer for the Town of Norwood. Steve also worked as a civil engineer for Stone & Webster, the MBTA and the Massachusetts Highway Department. He was involved in the building of the Ted Williams Tunnel in Boston.
Steve enjoyed traveling to his summer home every summer in Petra, Lesvos, Greece. He hosted the Greek Cable access show, Grecian Melodies for over 30 years. He was a member of the Ahepa for several years. He also served on the City of Brockton Planning Board for a few years and a member and President of the Brockton Community Cable Access for years. Steve served on the Church Board for the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Brockton for several years in the past.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his children, Georgia Tracy and her husband Derrick, Ethel Demos and her husband Anthony Bosco, Angie McCormick and her husband John, Mike Demos and his wife Christine and George Demos; his grandchildren, Nicholas Demos, Matthew Demos, Kailyn Demos, Stavros Tracy, Valentina Tracy, Mila Tracy, Kingston Tracy, Adriana Bosco, AJ Bosco, Jack McCormick and Lilliana McCormick; his siblings, Peter Demos and Maria Haynes; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 457 Oak St. Brockton, MA on Friday, April 11th from 10:00AM-11:00AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00AM in the church. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Steve's memory may be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 457 Oak St., Brockton, MA 02301.
