Obituary

Steven "Barney" Landry, 76, of Bridgewater, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the Brockton Hospital. He was the husband of Diane (Hunt) Landry.

Barney was born on March 25, 1949, in Brockton, Massachusetts, to the late Richard E. Landry and Phylis (Haskins) Landry. He attended schools in Brockton before being drafted into the United States Army, where he served in Vietnam. During his military service, Barney was recognized for his bravery and dedication, receiving three Bronze Service Stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the National Service Medal, and the M-16 Rifle Sharpshooter Badge.

Barney was a Self-Employed General Contractor who took great pride in working alongside close family and friends. He was an active member of several clubs, including the Conte Memorial, VFW, French, Bertocci and Protector's club, with a few more we may have missed. Barney was well known for his generosity and strong work ethic. He enjoyed golfing, hosting the annual "Barn-dog open," drinking beers with his friends, giving people a hard time and complaining. Above all his greatest happiness came from spending time with his Grandson, Brayden, and the love of his life, Diane.

He is survived by his wife, Diane (Hunt) Landry of 57 years; his children, Marcelle Landry and Steven Landry; his Grandson, Brayden Landry and his mother, Jessica Butler; his sister Linda L. Mallard; he is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late twins, Lisa R. and Jamie L. and was the brother of the late Jacqueline A. Gray, Dick A. Landry, Bobby W. Landry, Sandra Jean Proctor and Gig Landry.
