Payne, of Brockton February 26, 2002, Steven E. Payne 55 years. Former husband of Anne E. (Hardegen) Payne of Brockton. Loving father of Teri Payne of Staten Island, NY and Tammi Payne of South Yarmouth. Grandfather of Breana, Alexa and Saige and their father Jeff Venuti.

Funeral Service in the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday at 2pm. Visitation1-2pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in Steven’s memory may be made to MSPCA, 1300 West Elm Street Ext. Brockton, MA 02301.

Obituary Information

Steven died Tuesday at the Beth Israel-Deaconess Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Philadelphia, PA son of the late Carlton and Winnifred ( ) Payne. Raised and educated in Brockton, he was a graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1964. At the time of his illness Steven worked as Fleet Manager at Transcom Transportation in Brockton. He was also the owner of A&S Automotive Inc. in Brockton. Previously he worked at Dave Dinger Ford and was Service Manager at Paul Clark Ford in Brockton. He was a member of the Brockton Towing Association. He loved the outdoors and boating and was a member of the Pt. Independence Yacht Club in Onset where he spent many happy hours.

He is survived by his former wife Anne E. (Hardegen) Payne, 2 daughters Teri Payne of Staten Island, NY and Tammi Payne of South Yarmouth. 3 granddaughters, 2 sisters Jenny Titcomb of Amesbury, Grace Perry of Brockton, 1 brother Richard Payne of Middleboro, and 8 nieces and nephews
