Susan Jean (Barnes) Tremblay, 74 of Upton passed away at her home, under the care of her loving family and hospice, on June 10, 2024 after more than a year's long battle with cancer. Susan was born and raised in Brockton, MA, daughter of the late Evelyn and Elmer Barnes. She graduated from Brockton High School in 1967 and earned an Associate's Degree from Massasoit Community College in 1969. She held various administrative positions over the years, retiring from Ocean Spray Cranberries in 2006. Susan resided in Upton, MA, and previously in the Bridgewaters and Norton.

Susan had a flair for decorating and enjoyed decorating her home and cottage on Cape Cod. She had her own craft business for several years; enjoying the work involved in designing and displaying her products.

Spending time each summer at her cottage planting flowers and sprucing up the yard gave her great pleasure. Long morning walks along beach-side walkways was also a favorite pastime.

She enjoyed dining out, trying new restaurants and spending time with friends and family. The occasional winter vacation in Florida, to escape the snow, brought her much happiness. Susan liked reading mostly fiction, but had a special affinity for works about World War II, a conflict that her father served in and was awarded the purple heart.

Caring for her family, however, was Susan's highest priority and interest. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joys.

Susan is survived by her loving husband of 53 years: David Tremblay of Upton, MA; A daughter and son-in-law: Heather and Thomas Lewis, Jr. and their daughters Abigail and Cassidy of Hopedale, MA; A son and daughter-in-law: Andrew and Rebecca Tremblay and their daughter Evelyn of Belchertown, MA; A brother and his wife: Richard and Lisa Barnes of Stoughton, MA; Brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Raymond and Dolores Tremblay of Norton; Sister-in-law: Dianne Tremblay of Lakeville; Brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Peter and Eleanor Berghold of Ayden, NC; Brother-in-law: Joeseph Sergio of Berkley; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling Hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main St, Route 28, West Bridgewater on Monday, June 17 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. A Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 11:00 am Monday, June 17 in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
