Teresa A. Riedel
Teresa Ann (Minerva) Riedel, 89, of Avon since 2007 and formerly Brockton, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2012 at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Robert H. Riedel, Jr.
Born May 25, 1922 in Brockton, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Minerva and Cira (Principe) Minerva. A native of Brockton, Teresa graduated from Brockton High School class of 1941. She retired from the Brockton School Department working as a teacher assistant at the Raymond School.
She also worked as a secretary for the Knapp Shoe and Charles Chester Shoe Co. in Brockton. She was very active in the Plymouth VFW and Hanson Council on Aging. Teresa enjoyed running Flea Markets, Arts Crafts Fairs, and was very involved in planning her BHS Class Reunions. She was a communicant of the former St. Colman's Church in Brockton.
She is survived by her sisters, Eva Roffo of Braintree and Viola Urbano of Avon with whom she made her home. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Lena Almeida and Sabino Minerva.
Funeral Information
Funeral services will be held in the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Calling hours Tuesday, February 14, 2012 from 3:00-6:00PM.
