Thanos Xixis, 93, of Brockton, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at the BayPointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brockton. He was the husband of the late Mary (Theofilou) Xixis. Born in Argos, Greece, he was the son of the late George Xixis and Zoe (Totos) Xixis. After practicing law in Greece for a number of years, Thanos came to the United States in the Late 1950's and he began work for Chicago Title Insurance in the early 1960's where he spent over 30 years of his career until his retirement. He had lived in Whitestone, Queens, New York in the same house from 1967 until 2010 when his wife passed away. He enjoyed television programs and word-search puzzles. He is survived by his children, George Xixis and his wife Nina Liapopoulos Xixis and Sophia Xixis Konidas; his grandchildren, Zoe Xixis, Ioanna Konidas and Thanasi Konidas; his sister-in-law, Maria Theofilou; he is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 457 Oak St., Brockton on Monday from 10:00-11:00AM followed by a funeral service in the church at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Donations may be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
