Theodore Kaliva, 78, of Brockton passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He was the husband of Girana (Pilku) Kaliva.
Born in Gostivar, North Macedonia on September 17, 1944, he was the son of the late Kocho Kaliva and Dafina (Topallofski) Kaliva and a loving brother to Luljeta (Dragusha) Kaliva.
Theodore grew up in Tirana, Albania. He had a bachelor's degree as a Veterinarian. Growing up he discovered a love not only for animals but also for the nature, health, and technology. He was always learning and wanting to improve his life as well as the life of others.
Thereafter He met his wife Girana at the age of 19 where they quickly fell in love and got married and had three children Entela, Vojsava and Justian.
Theodore always had a drive and ambition to do better. In 1991, he took a courageous leap and came to America. He wanted the best for his family and knew America would provide just that. Few short months his wife Girana joined him and few years later his family luckily reunited.
He quickly learned English and excelled in speaking the language. He began working full time at Cumberland farms headquarters.
He worked hard for several years until his retirement. Once he retired he dived head first into his passions for holistic health and wrote many books such as "The nature and flax" in three volumes; " etc.
He also continued and dedicated most of his free time to his favorite hobbies which consisted of anything technology. He would spend days and weeks dismantling a computer hard drive and putting it back together better than before.
In addition to his wife, Girana, Theodore is survived by his children Justian Kaliva, Entela Jajaga, and Vojsava Kaliva; and grandchildren Julia, Amanda, Alban, Costner, Dorian and Eden as well as the new addition great-grandchild Troy.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, July 25th from 9:00-11:00 AM in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St. (Rt.123), Brockton followed by interment in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
