Obituary

Theofilos F. Vainas Theofilos F. "Teddy" Vainas, 81, of Norwood, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at the Caritas Norwood Hospital. He was the husband of Gregoria Scopelitis of Norwood and the late Constance Vainas. Born September 10, 1928 in Lynn, he was the son of the late Foty Vainas and Nellie (Dukas) Vainas. Mr. Vainas served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War in France and Germany. Teddy was a Fraud Investigator for the Department of Employment and Training for over 40 years. He was an avid target shooter and photographer. He was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Brockton. He is survived by his wife, Gregoria Scopelitis of Norwood; his son, Mark Vainas of Peabody; his step-daughters, Helen Hickman and her husband Mark of Stoughton and Mary Madge of Walpole; his grandchildren, Vanessa, Jonathan, David, Elizabeth and Christopher; his nieces and nephew, Ellen Vainas, Fran Vainas and Fred Vainas. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Monday, June 7th at 10:00AM followed by a funeral service in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 457 Oak St., Brockton at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery, Norwood. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home Sunday 5:00-8:00PM.
