Obituary

Theresa (Cappiello) Poliseno 97, a lifelong resident of Brockton, died Thursday September 1, 2016 surrounded by her family at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater. She was the devoted wife for 75 years to the late Carmen Poliseno who passed away this June. Theresa was the daughter of the late Michael and Carmella (Picciuto) Cappiello and was a 1937 graduate of Brockton High School.
Soon after getting married and starting her family, WWII was well under way and while Carmen was serving in our military abroad; Theresa was serving her country by working as a Detonator Assembler for the bombs being used in the effort. Later for more than 25 years she worked as a Garment Inspector for the former Piccento Sportswear in Brockton retiring in 1981. She was a longtime member of the Ladies Garment Workers Union ILG.
She loved style and always looking her best, her travel, dancing, regular breakfasts at Stonebridge, dinners at Christos, bingo, watching the Red Sox and Patriots and the time spent with family and family gatherings. Theresa will be remembered for her empathetic and sympathetic nature. She was unusually kind and only chose to see the best in everyone she encountered. She was always there to listen and often sought for her thoughtful counsel. A “Lady” beloved by all and will be greatly missed.
Theresa is survived by her three children Amelia “Mimi” Hennen and her husband Leo of Raynham, Doreen Mahoney and her husband Robert of W. Bridgewater and David Poliseno and his wife Sandy of Marshfield; her brother Michael “Duna” Cappiello of W. Bridgewater; 6 grandchildren Gary Hennen, Tanya Hennen Sullivan, Michael Garrity, Kim Garrity Dadasis, Ashley Poliseno Boisvert and Teri Poliseno; 7 great grandchildren Courtney Svenson, Mathew Hennen, Louis, Michael, William and Jason Dadasis and Michael K. Garrity and one great great grandson Jordan Hennen. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and close friends and her very best friend Ginnine Ippolito. She was predeceased by her brothers Thomas and Louis Cappiello and sister Concetta “Tina” Silvia.
