Obituary

Thomas G. Bonamici, Sr. age 93, of Brockton died December 19, 2022 at his home after a period of failing health. He was the devoted husband of the late Beverly A. (Donahue) Bonamici.

Tom was born and raised in Brockton a son of the late Nella (Bonamici) Yundzila and Peter Yundzila and was a 1947 graduate of Brockton High School. Tom had played semi-pro football on local and area teams in the 1940s and 50s. He was also a member of the Naval Reserve for 8 years.

Tom was a union mason since 1947 serving as recording secretary for Local 5, Brockton for many years before it merged with Quincy and later Southeastern Mass. Union. He had also worked at various times in Texas and Indiana.

An avid golfer, Tom was a member of D.W. Field Golf Course for many years. He was also a longtime member of the Brockton Senior Tenpin Bowling League.

Tom and his wife enjoyed summers at their cottage in Dennisport that he and his grandfather built together in 1964.

Tom was the father of Shirley Celia and her husband John of Brockton, Nancy Clinch and her husband Neal of Taunton, Thomas G. Bonamici, Jr of Brockton and Joan MacLaughlin and her husband Michael of Brockton. He also leaves 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, Brockton on Thursday December 22, from 4-7pm. The procession will gather at the funeral home at 8 am on Friday December 23, for a funeral Mass at Christ the King Church at 9am. Burial at Calvary Cemetery.
