Cappiello of Brockton January 18, 2002, Thomas J. Cappiello 81 years. Loving husband of Helen E. (Metta) Cappiello. Beloved father of Camille Riberio and her husband Bob of E. Bridgewater; Michael Cappiello and his wife Jane of Brockton; Andrea “Dee”Homer and her husband John of E. Wareham; Theresa Beane and her fiance Jeffrey McLaughlin of Brockton. Grandfather of Robert and Michael Riberio, Kate and Jim Cappiello, Brian, Teri and T.J. Masefield, Mike and Chris Marotte, and Lorne Beane. Great Grandfather of Victoria Masefield.

Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday at 9 am. Funeral Mass at St.Colman Church at 10 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting Hours Monday 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Tom’s Memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., 36 Cameron Ave.,Cambridge, MA 02140.

Mr. Cappiello died at Easton Lincoln Nursing Home after a period of failing health.Born in Brockton, son of the late Michael and Carmela (Piccuitto) Cappiello. Lifelong resident of Brockton. Graduate of Brockton High School Class of 1938. During WW II he served in the US Army in the European Theatre and he received the purple heart.

He retired as a postal carrier from the Brockton Post Office after 31 years. Following his retirement he was associated with the family business, Tinker Bell Kindergarten. He transported children and was affectionately known as “Mr. Tom”. Member of ITAM-Italian American Veterans.He enjoyed duck pin bowling former member City League and Couples League and he was an avid sports fans. He also coached pony league. In his youth he played 3rd base on softball and baseball teams.
