IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas J.
Healy, Jr.
December 27, 1944 – October 21, 2024
Thomas J. Healy, Jr.,79, of Bridgewater, passed away Monday, October 21, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Martha Rose (Tucker) Healy for nearly 51 years.
Born December 27, 1944, in Boston, he was the son of the late Thomas J. Healy and Dorothea (Rollins) Healy. Raised in Dorchester, he graduated from Christopher Columbus Central Catholic High School, later attained his associate's degree, and then served in the United States National Guard for 6 years.
Tom resided in Braintree with his family for over 25 years and in Bridgewater at Stone Meadow for the last 14 years. Tom was an entrepreneur, owning and operating several businesses including ShaLyn Enterprises, a retail juice business, and the Golden Goose II convenience store on Salem Street in the North End for many years.
He was a loving father to Sharon A. Connell and her husband David of Mansfield and Lynda M. Brunet of Whitman. Tom was the proud 'Grampy' to his three grandchildren, Ethan Healy-Brunet, Caden Connell, and Josephine Connell. He is survived by his siblings, Barbara Lawlor, Mary Ash, John Healy, Robert Healy, James Healy and is predeceased by his late brother, Bill Healy. His love also extended beyond his immediate family to many brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, and friends.
As his family and many friends know, Tom was a pleasure to spend time with. He was full of life, quick with a joke and had a wicked sense of humor. One of his favorite past times was lovingly teasing his friends and family. Tom had striking blue eyes and was a sharp dresser; only recently discovering the comfort of elastic waist band pants. He was the life of the party and enjoyed celebrating with others, often with a Stinger, a Heineken, or a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. At family parties, he enjoyed, 'playing the numbers' with his brother.
Tom's daughters and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was an avid reader and tennis player, and for several years, he ran the Masters Tennis program at the Weymouth Club. He also enjoyed an occasional round of golf. Tom loved to travel with family and friends and especially enjoyed tropical vacations with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Following Cremation, a Memorial Gathering will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main St., (Rt. 28) West Bridgewater on Sunday, October 27th from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM followed by a prayer service in the funeral home at 12:00 PM.
