Thomas S. Joyce, 72 years of age, lifelong of Brockton, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, April 19, following a courageous battle against four different types of cancer and Myasthenia Gravis.
Son of the late Thomas S. and Mary C. Brennan Joyce, Tom was the best friend, hero, and devoted, beloved husband to his wife of forty-four years, Georgia Lewis Joyce, and loving, proud father to his daughter, Kelley Ann Joyce of New York City.
Tom was a graduate of Archbishop Williams High School, Class of 1961, and still maintained close friendships with his football team. He attended Dean Junior College, and then served in the U.S. Army for three years, stationed in Korea for one year.

In his youth, Tom was a popular lifeguard and water safety instructor in the City of Brockton, and had taught many of Brocktons children how to swim.
He was a communicant of the former St. Margarets Church, where he was active in the St. Vincent DePaul Society, and presently a communicant of St. Anns Church in West Bridgewater.
He was a member of the YMCA, D.W. Field Golf Club, and The Myasthenia Gravis Association of New England, and past treasurer of the Bertocci Memorial Club.
Tom was an avid golfer, and had the distinction of having scored five hole-in-ones during his many years of golf. He loved to garden, and especially liked to grow tomatoes and roses, which he enjoyed presenting to his family and friends.
He and his wife traveled worldwide and spent five winters in their beloved community of Briny Breezes, Florida. Tom also enjoyed watching sports, the news, movies, listening to music, and reading daily newspapers.
Tom is survived by his wife Georgia and daughter Kelley; his sister, Mary Ellen Rickard and her husband Peter of Rochester, MA; his sister-in-law, Kathleen Joyce of Humarock, MA; his sister-in-law, Donna Haraldstad and her husband Robert of Brockton, MA; his brother-in-law, Robert Lewis and his wife Laura of Newtonville, MA.
