Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Monday at 7:45am. Funeral Mass in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Bridgewater at 9 am. Burial in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery. Obituary
Thomas J. Kupchun, 61 years died Thursday morning at his home after a period of failing health. He was born in Nashua, New Hampshire, the son of the late William P. and Josephine M. (Tamulevicz) Kupchun. Thomas was raised as a young child in Brockton and moved to Bridgewater as a teenager and stayed for most of his adult life until moving to East Bridgewater several years ago. He was a proud member of the Brockton Carpenter’s Union Local #624 for more than 35 years, retiring in 1995. As a teenager during his high school years and immediately after he worked as a cutter for several local garment companies. His family has described him as a quiet, caring gentleman who anyone would have been proud to call him “brother”. Mr. Kupchun belonged to the Bridgewater Citizens Club. He was an overall outdoorsmen, who enjoyed cultivating his huge vegetable garden each year; along with fishing, hunting, clamming. He had a love for sports, especially football and NASCAR racing. He will be sadly missed by all who loved him.
He is survived by a daughter, Mary Spear of Bridgewater, a brother, William P. Kupchun of Middleboro, his grandchildren, Jeremy Taylor Spear and Margaret Paige Spear, his nephew William G. Kupchun and a niece Rosemary Bell and best friend, Joseph Roman of East Bridgewater. Also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and great nieces and nephews
