Obituary

Thomas F. Slattery, age 82, ret. BPD, of Brockton died at his home on July 9, 2024. He was the devoted husband of the late Irene M. (Wilbur) Slattery. Born and raised in Roslindale, he was the son of the late Francis and Estelle (Hartnett) Slattery.

Tom served on the Brockton Police Department for 30 years retiring in 1999. While on the force, he earned his BA at Northeastern University and his Master’s degree at Anna Maria College in Paxton.

Tom enjoyed summers in South Dennis and spending time with his family. A soft spoken man, he was a great story teller. Most importantly, he was proud of his sons and grandson.

Tom was the father of Tom Slattery of South Easton and Sean Slattery of Brockton. He was the grandfather of Casey Slattery and brother of the late John Slattery, Paul Slattery, Mary Maloney, Jean Carrigan and Estelle Daniels and was the uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held 5-7pm on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St., (Rte 123) Brockton. The procession will gather at the funeral home on Thursday at 9:30 for a Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 10:30am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery.
