Tony (Anastasios/ Tassos) Calogrias, 79, of Canton, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2020. He was the husband of Ioanna (Pappas) Calogrias.
Born November 26, 1940 in Xironomi, Thebes, Greece. He was the son of the late Stylianos and Ioanna (Kollias) Kalogrias of Xironomi, Greece.
Tassos, at age 19 left Greece and moved to Panama. He was Operations Manager for Panama Agencies where he managed the transit fees of the ships when passing through the Panama Canal. Tassos put himself through college while living in Panama. Tassos came to the United States in 1978 where he attended Harvard University, Program for Management Development. Tassos continued his education at MIT Sloan School, where he received his MBA. Tassos had a successful career in International Marketing and Development . With his fluency in Spanish he often traveled to Latin and South America. Tassos loved gardening, traveling and spending time with his family.
Tassos is survived by wife, Ioanna (Ona) Pappas Calogrias, his two daughters Diana and Stephanie and his brother Konstantinos Kalogrias and his wife Garifalia Kokkinou of Athens, Greece, Tassos is also survived by his sister in law Roxanne Pappas Salvatore and niece Alessandra Kariotis as well as many other nieces and nephews here in the US and Greece.
Funeral at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 457 Oak Street, Brockton, Friday October 9th at 11:00am. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery Brockton. Calling hours are Thursday, October 8th from 4:00-7:00pm at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 457 Oak Street, Brockton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Annunciation Iconography Fund, Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church of Brockton.
