Obituary

Vertna E. “Woody” Wood age 75 of Stoughton, formerly of Brockton died unexpectedly on Sunday February 17, 2013. He was born in Belfast, Maine son of the late Vertna and Margaret (King) Wood and moved to Brockton in 1955. He retired from W.R. Grace & Company in Canton after many years of service.
Woody loved vacations in Maine, fishing and especially playing Bingo at local churches. He will be remembered as a sociable man who easily made new friends. He enjoyed time spent with his family and at get togethers.
Woody was the brother of Arthur P. Wood of N. Carolina, Olive L. LaChimia and her husband Frank, Sr. of Marshfield, Mildred Celia wife of the late Eddie Celia of N. Easton, James L. Wood of Maine and the late Roberta M. Ryan. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and his special friend Angel.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday 2-5 pm. Graveside services will be held at a later date in Head of the Tide Cemetery in Belfast, Maine.
