Victoria Martins Fontes, 77, of Brockton, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. She was the wife of Manuel Antonio Fontes. Born November 6, 1941 in Nova Cintra, Brava, Cape Verde, she was the daughter of the late Joao Lopes Martins and Isabel (DaGraca) Martins. Victoria was a Nurse. A woman of faith, she enjoyed reading and learning the gospel. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, singing, music and was especially devoted to her family. She is survived by her husband, Manuel Antonio Fontes; her children, the late Joao Manuel Fontes, Luis Fontes, Isabel Fontes and Jose Manuel Fontes; her step-children, Joao Paulo Fontes, Julia Pires and Maria Lopes; her sisters, Madalena DeSena, Ana Ribeiro and Maria Martins; she is also survived by 18 grandchildren. Calling hours will be held in the Nova Alianca Church of Nazarene, 38 Mystic Avenue, Brockton on Thursday, May 30th from 6:00-9:00PM. Funeral service will be held in the Nova Alianca Church of Nazarene on Friday at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
