Obituary

Viola E. (Dutra) Demers, 95 years, of Knoxville, TN, formerly of West Bridgewater, died October 25, 2002 at the Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center, in Knoxville. Born in Charlestown, MA, she was the daughter of the late Jessie and Ella (Lockery) Dutra. She was raised in Falmouth, and had been a resident of West Bridgewater for 30 years, until 1986. While a resident of West Bridgewater she was a communicant of St. Ann’s Church. While a resident of Knoxville, she was active in her church, St. John Neumann, and at the age of 88 decided to become a volunteer at a local nursing home. She was the wife of the late Rodman C. Demers.

She is survived by a son Dr. Robert Demers of Knoxville, TN, a daughter Carolyn Youngberg of Oak Island, NC, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Alfred Dutra.

A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, November 2, 2002, in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater at 11:30am. Arrangements by the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, Brockton.
