Virginia DeBenedictis Virginia M. (Glasheen) DeBenedictis, 54, of Lakeville, died peacefully surrounded by her family at home Thursday, November 18, 2010 after a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Was the beloved wife of Robert DeBenedictis. Born in Weymouth, raised and educated in Hingham. Mrs. DeBenedictis was a homemaker and an artist who expressed her work in many dimensions in the home, catering, clothes and stage costume designing. She loved her family, home, arts and gardening. Beloved wife of 30 years to Robert DeBenedictis and devoted mother of Beau and Dana DeBenedictis. Virginia is also survived by her mother, Kathleen Walsh of Braintree; her father, Thomas Glasheen and his wife Gail of Hingham; her sisters, Tammy Burns and husband Brian of Quincy and Bonnie Fleury of Weymouth; her brother, Thomas Glasheen of Fort Myers, Florida, her mother-in-law, Doris DeBenedictis and late father-in-law Dino DeBenedictis of Easton, her brother-in laws, Michael DeBenedictis and wife Cheryl of Lakeville, Marc DeBenedictis and wife Karen of East Bridgewater, she is also survived by many friends, cousins, uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. The family is especially grateful to her Oncologist, Dr. Joyce Liu, and her staff at the Dana Farber/Brigham and Women's Hospital. Also, Dr. Kurt Vreeland, Vermont, who has cared for her over two decades with holistic medicine and Chris Arabasgla from the Overlook Visiting Nurse Association, New Bedford (or Community Nurse and Hospice Care, Inc., Fairhaven). Funeral Information Following cremation, A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 3rd at 1:00PM in the Chapel of Mary on the campus of Stonehill College, 320 Washington St., Easton.
