Vivian Jean (Ord) Patchel, 92, of West Bridgewater, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at the Southeast Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in North Easton. She was the wife of Joseph Patchel, Jr. Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania on May 10, 1929, she was the daughter of the late George W. Ord and Blodwin (Owen) Ord. In addition to her husband Joseph, Jr., Vivian is survived by her children Joseph Patchel, III. and his wife Karen, Patti Duff and her husband Robert and Robert Patchel and his wife Karen; her grandchildren Kari Gale, Robert Duff, Jeffrey Patchel, Lauren Buote, Brandon Patchel and Rachel Szymaniak; her 9 great-grandchildren; her brother George W. Ord Jr; and several nieces and nephews. Vivian is predeceased by her sister Eleanor Trusilo. Vivian worked for 20 years in the payroll department at General Dynamics Shipyard in Quincy. After the shipyard closed, she worked in offices at West Acres Nursing Home in Brockton and Life Care Center in West Bridgewater. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and for years she would make dozens of various cookies to give to family and friends at Christmas. Vivian also enjoyed playing bingo, which she did often at churches in Brockton and West Bridgewater. She was known to her friends as Jean, "Nannie" to her grandchildren, and "GG" to her great-grandchildren. Following cremation, a Memorial Gathering will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main St., (Rt28) West Bridgewater on Friday, April 1st from 12:00-2:00 PM.
