Walker L. Carter, 72, of Brockton, passed away Sunday June 10, 2018 at the Beth Israel Hospital. He was the husband of Mary A. (McPherson) Carter.
Born October 24, 1945 in Georgia, he was the son of the late Mospel Carter and Emma (Nelson) Carter. Walker served in the United States Navy.
He worked as an Equal Opportunity Specialist for the Department of Education in Boston for over 20 years. He enjoyed worshiping at the Joy Missionary Baptist Church in Brockton.
He is survived by his wife, Mary A. (McPherson) Carter; his sons, Cedric Carter and Jonathan McPherson; his grandchildren, Sunali Marie Carter, Adrian McPherson, Jonathan McPherson, Jr., Krystal Colvin, Mikayla Gutierrez, Jhana McPherson, Zamayah Ramirez and Crisilida Chaplin; his siblings, Mercides Carter, Dorothy C. Mercer, Roosevelt Carter, Willa C. Seabrook and Betty C. Vereen; he is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
Callling hours will be held in the Joy Missionary Baptist Church, 1047 North Main St., Brockton on Saturday, June 16th from 10:00AM-12:00PM followed by a funeral service in the church at 12:00PM. Private cremation will follow.
