He was the owner/operator of Munroe Bros. Roofing and Siding and a Lifetime member of the Enterprise club in Brockton. He is survived by his loving wife Lorraine Munroe of Brockton; children Lauren Garrod and husband Steve of Brockton, Kimberly Roberts and husband James of Plymouth and Kenneth Munroe of Stoughton; grandchildren Amanda Ellis and husband Ryan of Brockton, Sarah Garrod of Easton, Lorraine Roberts of Plymouth and Kylie Munroe of Stoughton; 3 brothers, John Munroe and wife Donna of Brockton, George Munroe of Brockton and Stephen Munroe and Wife Heather of Port Saint Lucie, FL.; 6 sisters, Doreen Grover and husband Kenny of Rochester, Mildred Ashley and husband Steven of Carver, Olive Burr of Brockton, Gail Arnold and Husband Steve of East Bridgewater, Cynthia Williams and husband Barry of New Bedford, Dorothy Tosetti and husband Ed of Brockton; 2 great grandchildren, Cody and Amelia Ellis of Brockton, numerous nieces and nephews and his devoted pugs Meatball and Bella. He is preceded in death by parents William and Olive Munroe of Brockton; 4 brothers, William Munroe of Brockton, Paul Munroe of Brockton, Frank Munroe of Brockton and Edward Munroe of Carver. Walter passed away at home, peacefully, surrounded by family and close friends. In the latter months of his life, Walter's closest friend Wayne Sylvia was notably generous with his time and dedication when it was appreciated most. Walter's family is extremely grateful for the love and devotion exhibited by Wayne and his wife Jane up until the moment of Walter's passing. Walter enjoyed many activities with friends and family. He spent many years with his wife Lorraine, family and friends as a seasonal camper, motorcycling, and snowmobiling in the mountains of New Hampshire. Walter's family would like to express a special thank you to the Enterprise Club in Brockton, where Walter enjoyed time as a lifetime member, playing in card tournaments and enjoying a few Bud Lights on a Friday night with friends. A special thank you to them and their members for all the support they have shown Walter and his family over a difficult period is in order.
