Walter J. Talbot, of Easton, passed away Monday, August 22, 2022, at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. He was the husband of the late Lois A. (McElroy) Talbot.
Wally loved spending time with his children, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Holidays were a big event, with dozens of family and friends coming over for Christmas dinner each year.
Wally and his late wife Lois enjoyed camping and bluegrass festivals. They were regulars at Thomas Point, Blistered Fingers, and the Fryeberg Fair, all in Maine. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Maine, and also took many cruises with friends. He traveled all over America and loved talking about his time living in Ireland.
He loved the outdoors and could usually be found on his lawn mower or tractor, or tinkering in his garage. He was a gentleman farmer and spent many years raising horses and cows with his family.
Wally was an active member at the West Bridgewater Outdoorsman Sports Club for many years, and in more recent years was a regular at the Knights of Columbus in Easton, where he had many friends.
His family would like to thank Dr. Berger, Dr. Dalton, and all of the workers at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater for their excellent care, kindness, and patience.
Wherever he went, Wally would quickly strike up a conversation and made friends easily; he was always ready with a wise crack, story, or joke to make you laugh. He will be missed by many.
He is survived by his children: daughter, Cheryl Alves and her husband Stephen, son Gary Talbot and his wife Elizabeth, daughter Janice Webber and her husband Kevin, Alan Talbot (who passed away 7 hours after his father), and daughter-in-law Linda Talbot; his siblings David "Buddy" Talbot of Easton, Martha Rainey of Dedham; his 15 beloved grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He was the uncle to several nieces and nephews; and a special friend to many. He was the brother of the late Edward Talbot, Mary Christensen, Arlene O'Neil, and Judy Anderson.
