Obituary

Walter T. Woodford, age 82 of Middleboro, formerly of Braintree, died January 2, 2021, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth. Born in Boston, raised and educated in Braintree, he was the son of the late Thomas and Marion (Leary) Woodford. When Walter married the love of his life Louise, they moved to Gilead, Maine. While in Maine, they lived on the Wild River Acres Farm where he boarded horses and cattle and enjoyed skiing. For many years, he was in the trucking industry and drove for the Wausau Paper Company.

Walter was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, enjoyed politics and world events and was an avid reader. Later in life he was a resident of the Hannah B.G. Shaw Home in Middleboro and was an honorary member of their Grounds Crew.

Walter was the brother of Jean C. Beswick of Bridgewater, Helen McNeil of Rockland and the late Arthur Woodford of Braintree and Marion Flynn of Easton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
