Wilbert Jones, Jr. Wilbert Jones Jr., affectionately known as "SONNY", passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 in Brockton, surrounded by his loved ones, after a brief illness. Born on September 1, 1951 in Montgomery, Alabama, he was the son of the late Wilbert Jones, Sr. and Katherine (Smith) Jones. He attended school in Montgomery, Alabama and moved to Brockton as a young man where he soon met the his life long love, Lynda Gunderway. Sonny was employed for twenty years as a supervisor with the Barbour Corp. of Brockton where he was well liked. He truly enjoyed his children, extended family and friends. He leaves to cherish his memories his first love, Lynda Gunderway; his children, Sharon Tagger, Kim Gunderway, Brian Gunderway, Maresha Wagner and Wilbert Jones, III., all of Brockton; his four grandchildren, seven sisters, two brothers and a host of other family and friends. He was also the Father of the late Melinda Jones, close nephew of the late Alberta Black and best friend of the late Stevie Betts. Funeral Information Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Monday, April 26th from 10:30AM to 12:00PM followed by a prayer service at 12:00PM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
