Wilfred G. Cain, 85 years, of Brockton, died Monday June 3, 2013 after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband for 52 years of the late Mary (Maguire) Cain.
Born and raised in Spaniard's Bay, Newfoundland, Canada, he was the son of the late Thomas J. and Mary (Dunn) Cain. After moving to Jamaica Plain, in his mid-twenties, Fred started working in construction in Charlestown.
Shortly after he met and married his loving wife, Mary, they moved to Brockton where they resided for 44 years. He was a very active member of the Club National and the Bertocci Club for many years. His Interest included playing Golf, Bocce, Shuffle Board and an Avid Card Player and mostly enjoyed spending time with his family.
Fred worked for the Brockton Enterprise and retired after 25 years of service.
Fred was the loving father of Donna Cain of Easton, John Cain and his wife Cheryl of Taunton, Fred Cain and his wife Sandy of Florida and Eileen Cain of Bridgewater; loving grandfather of Patrick Goodhue and Joshua and his wife Alexis Goodhue, Taylor and Alex Cain, Rachael, Cameron and Amanda Cain, and Julia Clancy and Daniel Cain; Loving Uncle of several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Information
Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Friday, June 7th at 9:30AM thence to Christ the King Parish, 42 Wendell Ave., Brockton where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul by his cousin, Rev. Owen Lafferty at 10:30AM. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home Thursday 4:00-8:00PM.
