Obituary

William D. “Bill” Cowan, age 61, of Brockton, died May 29, 2016 at Good Samaritan Medical Center after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Born in Boston, Bill was the son of Frederick R. Cowan, Sr. and the late Ruth I. (Willson) Cowan. Raised and educated in Brockton, Bill was a graduate of Brockton High School. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, Easton Council, enjoyed playing cards and watching football and wrestling.

Bill is also survived by his brothers Fred R. Cowan, Jr. and wife Lynne of Raynham and David B. Cowan of Taunton; his nieces Amy Hodge and husband Christopher and Kathryn Porro and husband Mathew; aunts Margaret Stack and Beverly Willson; uncle Thomas Cowan; his former wife Janice Guinta and her niece and nephew Christina and Ryan Guinta. He is also survived by his longtime friend Angela Munafo. Bill was the brother of the late Scott L. Cowan and nephew of the late Lillian Willson.

Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Friday 8:30 to 9:30am followed by a funeral Mass at Christ the King Parish at 10am. Burial will be at a later date in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Boston.
