Rapoza; stepfather of Douglas, Wayne, David, Bette Jean and Doreen Anderson; grandfather of Jayde and Austin Harris, Rayce, Bryce, Blake and Layla Rapoza; brother of Linda Alden and Peter and Kimberly Harris. Former husband of Sandra (Packard) Anderson and the late Elaine C. (Belcher) Scherzer

Funeral Service in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Saturday at 10am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery. Visiting Hours Friday 5-8pm.

Obituary Information

William D. Harris died Wednesday morning at his home surrounded by his family. Born and raised in Brockton, he attended Brockton schools and was the son of the late Irving R. and Muriel E. (Rolfe) Harris. He was a United States Navy veteran. He had been employed by Standish Grill, formerly J&A in East Bridgewater, Plymouth Rubber Company in Canton and retired from Shaws Supermarket in 1994. He enjoyed fishing, camping, the ocean and taking day trips.

He is survived by one son William D. Harris Jr. of South Easton, one daughter Susan L. Rapoza of Brockton; three stepsons Douglas Anderson of Fairhaven, Wayne Anderson of Bridgewater, David Anderson of South Easton, two stepdaughters Bette Jean Anderson of Brockton and Doreen Anderson of Rhode Island, six grandchildren, Jayde and Austin Harris, Rayce, Bryce, Blake and Layla Rapoza, many nieces and nephews, two sisters Linda Alden of Boston and Kimberly Harris of Whitman and one brother Peter Harris. He was the former husband of Sandra (Packard) Anderson of South Easton and the late Elaine C. (Belcher) Scherzer and brother of the late Philip and Sandra Harris.
