William R. "Bill" Kaligian
William "Bill" R. Kaligian, 46 of Norwell, MA and most recently of Portland, OR passed away in Pepperell, MA on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bill was born on November 4, 1963 in Stoughton, MA and lived his youth in Norwell. He was a 1981 graduate of South Shore Technical High School, Hanover, MA where he was senior class president and the recipient of many awards including the state gold medal for Extemporaneous Speaking. He also attended the University of Massachusetts, Boston.
He started his career in drafting with C.T. Main, an engineering firm in Boston, MA but he established himself as a gifted artist in the technique of Trompe l'Oeil, the style of faux finishes that create an illusion that "fools the eye." His talents took him to the United Kingdom, Europe and the Middle East. However, Bill will be most remembered by those who were lucky enough to experience his wit, charm, perception of life and the wonderful feeling he left everyone with.
He is survived by his mother Carmela Principe of Abington; his father and stepmother Raymond A. and Ann Kaligian of Laconia, NH; his fianc and love of his life, Lori Shea of Portland, OR; brothers Jon Hall of West Wareham, MA and Raymond and his wife Bobbie Kaligian of Geneva, IL; his sister Tami Kaligian and her fianc Paul Leadbetter of Whitman, MA. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Information
A Memorial Gathering will be held at the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont Street (Rt. 123), Brockton on Friday, December 18th from 5:00-8:00PM. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, December 19th at 10:30 AM in St. Bridget's Church, 455 Plymouth St., Abington, MA for all those who would like to attend. Burial will be private.
