William W. Rivers, 65, of Brockton, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Hilda "Pat" (Correia) Rivers.
Born April 21, 1948 in Boston, he was the son of the late Bonnie Rivers and Gertrude (Lewis) Rivers.
William served as a Boston Police Officer for 32 years before retiring in 2007 and then worked as an M.I.T. Police Officer for 3 years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Hilda "Pat" (Correia) Rivers; his children, Kimberly Utley-Billy, William W. Cooper, Erica L. Rivers and Derek W. Rivers; his grandchildren, Marquie Cooper, Miley Cooper and Kailah A. Billy; his siblings, Lonzie, B. Dee, Andrew, George Rivers, Gregus Lee, Jr., Melva, Delois, Carrie, Gladys, Marylin, Annette, Earlene Rivers, Ernestine Rivers and LaVornia King; he is also survived by the Williams Family.

Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Thursday, September 12th from 4:00-8:00PM. Calling hours will continue on Friday from 10:00AM-11:00AM in the St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 230 Warren Ave., Roxbury followed by a funeral service at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
