Obituary

Tately formerly of Brockton died in Phoenix, Arizona, May 13, 2003. William H. Tately, 82 years. Husband of Audrey (Stamm) Tately and the late Phyllis E. (Herzog) Tately. Father of William Tately of Spokane, WA and Carole Tately Benkendorf and her husband Robert of Phoenix, AZ. Grandfather of Brittne Elliott, Hunter and Briar Tately. Brother of Irene McLean and her husband George of Brockton and Harold Tately and his wife Dorsi of East Harwich,MA. Visiting hours will be held in the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Monday 10 to 11 am. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday at 11:30 am. at Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. In lieu of flowers donations in Bill’s memory may be made to Muhammad Ali Parkinson Research Center, 500 W.Thomas, Phoenix, AZ 85013.

Obituary

Mr. Tately died at the Gardiner Home in Phoenix, Arizona after a lengthy illness. Born in Brockton, son of the late William H. and Alice M. (Anderson) Tately. Graduate of Brockton High School Class of 1938 and graduated from Boston University and Columbia University with a Masters Degree in Economics. Mr. Tately has been employed by General Electric in New York State and later transferred to Phoenix, where he was employed by Honeywell. Upon retiring from Honeywell he obtained a degree from the College of Financial Planning. He served in the US Army during World War II. He was a survivor of Pearl Harbor and later served in the Philippine Islands and he was a recipient of two Bronze stars. He was very interested in genealogy and archaeology research.

He is survived by his wife Audrey (Stamm) Tately of Phoenix, AZ. A son William Tately of Spokane, WA and a daughter Carole Tately Benkendorf of Phoenix, Az. Grandfather of Brittne Elliott, Hunter and Briar Tately. Brother of Irene McLean of Brockton and Harold Tately of East Harwich,MA and a niece and five nephews.
