Wilmar C. (Harlow) Armer, 92 years died Thursday at the Brockton Hospital. Born in Brockton and raised in West Bridgewater, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Annie C. (Bartlett) Harlow. She attended West Bridgewater schools and was a graduate of Bridgewater Normal School, now named Bridgewater State College, where she received her Bachelor and Masters degrees in education. Wilmar’s first teaching position was in the Cocheesset Elementary School where she taught 4th, 5th and 6th grades in one classroom, while also holding the position of Principal. She taught for more than 25 years in the East Bridgewater School System. She enjoyed summers at Gurnet Point in Plymouth, stained glass making, gardening and photography. She was a member of the East Bridgewater Historical Commission, Universalist Unitarian Church in Brockton, Women’s Fellowship of the U-U Church, East Bridgewater Garden Club, Retired Teachers Association, the Harlow Family Association of Plymouth, Cupid Squares Dance Club, Cranberry Coachman Club and the Uneek Club of West Bridgewater.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years Harold L. Armer; a son James H. Armer of Concord, NH and Elaine B. Armer of East Bridgewater, two grandchildren Amy Gygax and William Armer and two great grandchildren.
