Yves Mario Bonny, 57, of Brockton, was called home to be with God on Monday, May 22, 2017, after a long and difficult battle with cancer.
Mario was born to Willy Christophe Bonny and Yvie Beaubrun Bonny on May 24, 1959 in Petit Goave, Haiti. In May of 1981 Mario came to the United States to continue his education and pursue greater opportunities. He attended Roxbury Community College and then relocated to New York, where he had a successful career working as a Chauffeur for a premium car service in Manhattan, New York.
Mario was born and raised in the Catholic faith. In 2010 he began attending Jubilee Christian Church of Stoughton, Massachusetts with his family. At Jubilee, Mario developed a new love and profound relationship with Jesus Christ. This relationship with Christ encouraged and comforted him through his most challenging days.
Mario was an ardent music lover and deeply enjoyed listening to live music of all genres. He could hear and point-out every bar and every note of a musical selection. Mario supported and invested in music education: he owned many instruments, mixing boards, and speakers. In 1995, Mario opened his own music station, Bs FM (B for Bonny), in his home town of Petit Goave. The station operated for 15 years until the earthquake of 2010.
Mario is survived by his son, Dahan Mayard Bonny; his siblings, Joseph Bonny and his wife Carlie, Marlene Nelson and her husband Roland, Yanick Rene and her husband Joseph, Claire Tessier and her husband Edner, Willy Bonny, Emmanuel Bonny and his wife Aisha, Elma Desmangues and her husband Antoine, Frantz Bonny and his wife Sonia, Reginald Bissereth and his wife Loyda, Dherly LaRaque and her husband Carly, Carline Lambert, Gardy Fils Saint-Fleur, Will Khali Saint-Fleur, and Thercy Bonhomme. Mario leaves behind several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and life-long friends.
In the words of Marios favorite song, as written by his favorite musician:
One Love! One Heart! Let's get together and feel all right.
Give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel all right.
As it was in the beginning; so shall it be in the end,
Give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel all right
